Uttar Pradesh Water Supply and Sanitation Mission
(Jal Jeevan Mission – Uttar Pradesh)
Uttar Pradesh Water Supply and Sanitation Mission (UP SWSM) is a Government Entity functioning under the Government of Uttar Pradesh for the implementation of rural drinking water supply and sanitation programs across the State.
The Mission is constituted and notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and operates under the administrative control of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation / Jal Shakti Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
UP SWSM is responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring, and supervision of water supply and sanitation initiatives including the Jal Jeevan Mission in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
Legal Status
The Mission is a Government-notified body established through official Government Orders of the Government of Uttar Pradesh for the execution of centrally and state sponsored water supply and sanitation schemes.
It functions as a public authority and operates in accordance with policies, guidelines, and administrative instructions issued by the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

- Strengthening rural drinking water infrastructure

Governance Structure
The Mission functions under the overall supervision of the State Government and is administered by senior officers of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
